What Amazon deducts from every sale

Referral fee (with ₹1,000 slabs)

A category commission on your selling price. In most categories it is 0% at or below ₹1,000 and only kicks in above ₹1,000 — from ~7% up to 25%. Getting the slab right is the single biggest source of miscalculation.

Closing fee

A fixed fee per item, tiered by price band and by channel — Easy Ship, Self-Ship, Seller Flex and FBA each have their own rate card.

Shipping & FBA fulfilment

On Easy Ship / Seller Flex you pay a weight-based delivery fee. On FBA you pay pick & pack + outbound weight handling by zone. Self-Ship skips Amazon shipping but you courier it yourself.

Quick answers

Why is my referral fee ₹0 below ₹1,000?
That's by design. For most Amazon.in categories the referral rate is 0% for item prices at or below ₹1,000, and the category percentage applies only above ₹1,000. A few categories (books, beauty, health, tablets) switch at ₹250/₹300/₹500 instead — the calculator applies the correct slab automatically.
What's the difference between Easy Ship, Seller Flex and FBA?
Easy Ship — you store & pack, Amazon picks up and delivers. Seller Flex — you store & pack in your own warehouse with a Prime badge, Amazon does last-mile. FBA — Amazon stores, packs and ships from its fulfilment centre, so you also pay pick & pack, outbound weight handling and monthly storage. Each has its own closing-fee card.
How is FBA storage calculated?
By volume, not weight: your packed dimensions give cubic feet, billed monthly at a per-cu.ft rate (≈₹45 off-peak, much higher Oct–Dec). Multiply by how long stock sits before selling. Slow movers past ~180 days also attract long-term surcharges.
Is GST included in the result?
Yes — the calculator adds 18% GST on Amazon's fees (referral, closing, shipping/FBA, storage). This is separate from GST on your product and from any input tax credit you can claim back.
